Description |
||||
NGC 1316 is in the Fornax galaxy cluster, and probably 60 million light-years away. It contains a supermassive black hole at the center, helping to explain why it's the 4th brightest radio source in the sky. NGC 1317 is the smaller galaxy just to the north. The data was calibrated in Maxim, aligned and integrated in PixInsight, and thereafter most of the processing was in Photoshop CS2.
