Description |
||||
This is a mosaic of data orginally acquired at New Mexico Skies in 2008, and finished more recently with data from an observatory in suburban Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia. This is a bicolor rendition, using Ha and OIII data -- the green channel is synthesized from the other two in Photoshop. The gamma cygni region is replete with a variety of nebulae, including the more famous Butterfly Nebula and Crescent Nebula A cropped version of this image, centered on Sadr, can be found here: http://www.starshadows.com/_img/image/gallery/3/gamma%20cygni%20crop1.jpg A higher resolution version of the Crescent Nebula (NGC 6888) from 2005, courtesy of J. Thibert, an SSRO alum, can be found here: |
