Here is NGC 2467in Puppis, processed by synthesizing the green channel from the Red (Ha data) and Blue (OIII data) using the method outlined by Steve Cannistra. This object appeared on APOD in 2005, from data obtained at the 8 meter scope in Gemini South...just a couple of miles from where we imaged it at CTIO. The Gemini South image also appears to be from narrowband data. Putting aside comparisons of the choices in color palette, I'd say our 16" stacks up pretty well to their 8 meters in terms of resolution? Click HERE to see the Gemini South version.
