Sh 2-247 is a part of the Gemini OB1 molecular cloud complex located about 7000 light years away in the constellation Gemini. This cloud complex is discussed here. Note, several other objects imaged at SSRO are discussed in this paper. This object was very dim and really only showed up in the Ha. The Ha data can be seen in the image below:
