Description |
||||
NGC2207 and IC2163 are a pair of interacting galaxies in the constellation Canis Major. These galaxies are located around 82 million light years away. NGC2207 is in the process of "tidal stripping" IC2163. This galaxy interaction is also likely fairly young. There are not too many amateur images of this galaxy pair. They tend to be pretty small and it is a bit difficult to get the detail on these. This pair has, however, been imaged by both Hubble and Spitzer. Rob Gendler has processed the Hubble data and his result is here. I really need better resolution to pick up much more detail. Note, this also has a limited amount of both color and luminosity data included. |
