Description |
||||
NGC 6357 is an extremely active star forming nebula in Scorpius. The interesting patterns of this nebula are thought to be created by intrastellar winds, gravity, radiation pressure and magnetic fields. This is a narrowband image using the CFHT palette. This nebula was first noted by John Herschel from Capetown in the late 1700s. It is often referred to as the War and Peace Nebula or The Lobster Nebula. |
