Description |
||||
The Gamma Cygni Nebula, aka the Butterfly Nebula, surrounds Sadr -- at the center of the Northern Cross in Cygnus. This 2 panel mosaic also displays NGC6888, aka the Crescent Nebula, at the lower right. (Elsewhere on this site is a close-up of NGC6888.) The processing of this Ha-only mosaic was quite aggressive, aiming to enhance the subtle differences in contrast in this region. One panel was done from New Mexico, the other from Pennsylvania. |
