Description |
||||
NGC672 and IC1727 are located about 18 million light years away and are 88,000 light years apart. These two galaxies are dwarf Irregular type of galaxies and are interacting with each other. It has been hypothesized (see http://arxiv.org/pdf/0808.1789v1 ) that these galaxies are in the process of merging into a larger galaxy under the influence of dark matter. These galaxies have been imaged infrequently. The very small galaxy seen at the top right of this image is ghe galaxy PGC1803573. Other small galaxies can be seen in this image. |
