NGC 3628, an edge-on spiral galaxy about 30 million lightyears distant, is in the famous Leo triplet, along with M65 and M66. If you look closely at the image, you can see the faint tidal tail beginning to emerge at about the 8:00 position. There are a veritable plethora of tiny, faint backround galaxies visible in this image. The FHWM of the lum component was 2.15", deconvolving to about 1.7" with 3 iterations of CCDsharp. |
