This image of M57 is a composite of long exposure hydrogen alpha data taken at New Mexico Skies with a 16" RC, along with LRGB data taken in Pennsylvania with a 12.5" RC -- the total exposure is 30 hours! (and as of this writing, there is yet more data to be processed...someday, maybe) Seeing was quite good during the imaging sessions both east and west, with FWHM's ranging from 1.6-1.9". The result is an M57 that clearly displays the extended outer shell of emission nebulosity, while still showing a remarkable amount of detail within the core of the nebula.
